Time For A Survey?

survey scam

I hate to say this, but marketing surveys must be the new scam. I have recently started receiving multiple emails from different companies requesting that I take a survey. I usually only see them when I am scanning my junk mail folder for false positives. These are definitely scams.

Each email has the following similarities:

  • They all promise $70 for a few minutes of my time.
  • They offer $5 for each referral that I can get to take the survey.
  • The emails all have the same footer format.
  • All of the domains resolves to the same WPengine IP address.

A few of them included links to LinkedIn profiles that no longer exist. It's the last one that tipped it over to the scam category - too many domain names resolving to the same IP address. My currently replies that I don't do surveys. I am going to change it up so that it just drops them in the bit bucket.
