Everything is a Haul Truck

One of the challenges that technical people often face is explaining things to nontechnical people. While the concepts of a certain technology might be perfectly clear to us, we often forget that not everyone in our company is as technical as we are. How do I overcome this? I use an analogy that they will understand. If you happen to work in the mining industry, then everything is a haul truck.
