grav wordpress website

I spent some time performing my weekend updates. My short list included:

  • Updating WordPress
  • Updating Grav
  • Renewing my TLS certs
  • Rebuilding rootsh on my Raspberry Pi
  • Upgrading my MacBook to Big Sur

Everything went pretty smoothly since I have most of it automated with SaltStack. I did run into a few minor issues. After upgrading Grav, I discovered that the admin plugin was not functioning for one of my sites, and I had to add a rewrite rule to fix the issue. Rebuilding rootsh on my Raspberry Pi was a bit more involved. A rootsh package does not exist for Ubuntu in the official repos so I have to build it from source. Unfortunately, the source has not been updated in several years, and I need to make a few updates to the source code to get it to compile.

My upgrade to macOS Big Sur was largely unattended. Even though the upgrade was anticipated to take only 30 minutes, I basically started the upgrade. I woke up to a brand new login page. I've been using my MacBook for several hours, and I really haven't noticed any big changes. I read that Safari received some new feature updates, but I'm primarily a Firefox and Edge user. I haven't encountered any issues with any of the apps that I have installed. So far, so good.
